Austrian Airlines wet lease flights

Even during periods of increased travel demand, we aim to offer you the best possible flight connections. To achieve this, the Lufthansa Group works with carefully selected partner airlines on certain routes when required. These so-called wet lease partners operate flights on behalf of Austrian Airlines. This allows us to flexibly adapt our flight offer and continue providing you with attractive connections, even during periods of high demand.

Everything you need to know about flights operated by a wet lease partner

Wet lease means that a partner airline operates a flight on behalf of another airline using its own aircraft and crew – in this case, on behalf of Austrian Airlines. The airline operates the flight for us and meets our quality and safety standards. For you, the key aspects remain unchanged: your booking is still an Austrian Airlines booking, and your passenger rights remain fully protected.

You can find out more about what may change and what will remain the same on our wet lease partner pages. If any changes occur after you have made your booking, we will inform you as soon as possible. You can also check whether your flight is operated by a partner airline in the Austrian Airlines app or on our website under ‘My booking’ > ‘View flight status’.
