Exceptions specific to the market may result in a higher free baggage allowance in Economy Class. These exceptions are stated on your ticket or your booking confirmation.
If you have booked a journey with several airlines, the baggage rules that apply are those of the airline that flies the most significant part of the journey (usually the geographically longest) and under whose flight number this flight was booked. It is irrelevant which airline actually operates the flight.
Different free baggage regulations may apply to Austrian holiday flights (charters).
If you combine an Austrian Airline flight with other airlines as part of your whole trip, your free baggage allowance may be determined by the rules of the airline with which you will fly the longest or most significant route. Please note therefore the free baggage allowance entered on your ticket or booking confirmation. A weight scheme might also be used where your free baggage is shown as a total weight irrespective of the number of bags, for example 20K (for 20 kg) or 30K (for 30 kg).
In accordance with the CTA (Canadian Transport Agency) and US DOT (United States Department of Transportation) regulations, if your trip begins or ends in the USA or Canada, your baggage regulations are determined by the first airline stated on the ticket.
