Coronavirus – current information

There are so many uncertainties about travelling in times of coronavirus and it raises many questions. Please inform yourself therefore about the entry regulations, flexible rebooking options and extensive hygiene measures.

We look forward to welcoming you back on board very soon!

FFP2 mask requirement

The Austrian Federal Government has issued an ordinance requiring the wearing of a respiratory protection mask of protection class FFP2 without an exhalation valve or a mask of at least an equivalent standard in those areas where the "3G rule" does not apply from 15 September 2021. The areas with mandatory FFP2 mask wearing from 15 September 2021 include, among others, our aircraft.

Children under six years of age continue to be exempt from obligatory masks. If passengers are unable to wear a mask for health reasons, they must provide a negative Covid-19 PCR test that is no more than 48 hours old at the scheduled start of travel and provide a medical certificate on an Austrian Airlines form.

The safety of all passengers continues to be guaranteed with proof of testing, recovery or vaccination usually required for entry in many countries, with the increase of protection and hygiene measures, and the effective air filtration system on board.

As other countries may have different regulations to Austria, we still ask our passengers to inform themselves about the rules at their destinations (compulsory use of FFP2 masks, test, recovery or vaccination certificates, etc.).

Entry regulations and travel information

In addition to the Covid-19 entry requirements, please also note the generally applicable entry regulations.

On many Austrian Airlines flights you have the possibility to upload corona-related travel documents online in advance and have them checked.

Flexible rebooking options continue to apply.
