Flight time from Vienna to the city on the Pacific Ocean, a distance of approximately 9,900 km, is around 12 hours and 30 minutes, making the Los Angeles flights the langest in the Austrian Airlines raute network.

STEP BY STEP Los Angeles made easy
  1. Los Angeles International Airport, or LAX for short, is the third-largest airport in the United States (after Atlanta and Chicago O'Hare), and the seventh-largest in the world.
  2. Author Dorothy Parker, the ultimate New Yorker, once drily described Los Angeles as "72 suburbs in search of a city". Not far from the truth. Los Angeles is gigantic, a megalopolis, a monster. ff you're planning to travel by car from Downtown to the coast, set aside at least one to two hours' driving time (depending on the traffic). The nice part is that every one of these 72 suburbs has its own well-honed character. Hollywood's for film fans. Silver Lake and Los Feliz are more f or hip, young types, especially those with kids. Venice and Santa Monica are f or anyone wanting to lead life in a more relaxed way, while Downtown's for the new, creative scene. And for shopping, you've always got Beverly Hills.
  3. And speaking of traffic ... it's a/ways being drily pointed out that Los Angeles is a city for car drivers. And there's truth in that, too. But the joke's worn oft: the highways are constantly jammed, parking spaces are like gold dust, and valet parking can be outrageously expensive. For cleverer ways to move around, use the practical Uber taxis, and the totally usable underground system, the Metro.
  4. Three hotel recommendations. The Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles ( is in the building Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford had built in 1927 as the headquarters of their new film company, United Artists. Now it's the hippest hotel in the city. The city's second super-hat hotel of the moment is in Koreatown. Rooms at The Une ( are furnished extremely coolly; book a room with mountain view and you get an amazing view towards Hollywood; and the hotel restaurant, the Commissary, does an inspired version of current fusion cuisine, with a culinary concept by star chef Roy Choi. And finally, if you really want to get your fair share of Hollywood glamour, think about staying at one of the bungalows in the Chateau Marmont (chateaumarmont. com) on Sunset Boulevard.
  5. Watch marvellous film musical „La La Land" with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, currently on cinema screens worldwide. A great way to get a feel for this city.
