Flights to Barcelona

As the capital of Catalonia in Spain, Barcelona is the second largest Spanish city after Madrid. It was originally built by the Romans and became a capital in its own right during the Middle Ages. Barcelona is most famous for its numerous buildings by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi. Gaudi's masterpiece is the Sagrada Familia, a church that forms the epicentre of the city. This church remains incomplete and is still under construction nearly a hundred and fifty years after Gaudi completed its design. Still, in its unfinished state this cathedral is a breathtaking achievement and a must see for any tourist. Gaudi's architecture is also seen in the Park Guell, Casa Mila, Casa Batlio and many other buildings, all of which have been inscribed as World Heritage Sites. Barcelona not only boasts the finest architecture, but is also home to several world famous art museums, including the National Museum of Art of Catalonia. This museum houses a world famous collection of Roman era art, while the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art focuses on art from the latter half of the twentieth century onwards. For those looking to relax, Barcelona Beach has been named one of the top ten city beaches by National Geographic. This beach was opened for the 1992 Olympics and is carefully maintained to ensure visitors have the perfect place to rest. Barcelona's unique history and architecture make it the perfect destination for any traveller. Find cheap flights to Barcelona, BCN today to experience this beautiful city for yourself.

Where to eat in Barcelona

Where to eat in Barcelona
El Tragaluz
The Tragaluz is ahead of time. The kitchen relies fully on markets' fresh ingredients, has to be called incredible in every sense. A classic dish is the pig filet with figs and goat cheese. Otherwise, the menu is seasonal. Trendsetting is the glass ceiling that provides for endless daylight and star gazing in the night. Two hot tips: if you have no reservation, you won't get a table. If you manage to get one, make sure to dress appropriately, as the other guests of Tragaluz will be dressing up for the occasion.

What to see in Barcelona

What to see in Barcelona
The smallest part of Barcelona lies between the old harbor and the Platja de Barceloneta. Ahead is just endless sea. Once upon a time, this used to be a very small fishing village. In the 18th century, however, a man arrived with a drawing table and he re-organised the area. That is why the area is full of two-storey buildings with a footprint modelled on a chess board. The beach of Barceloneta is the nearest to the city and therefore popular on a nice day. However, we still recommend it. Especially the proximity to the sea shows the high quality of life of this metropolitan. Tip: in the evening there is a lot happening on this promenade. A few night clubs, bars and restaurants are situated here. If you would like to eat fish ask the locals for their current restaurant recommendation.

Where to shop in Barcelona

Where to shop in Barcelona
Duduá is not a shop but a network for artists that haven't made it yet. If you are a creative person then don't hesitate to take your work to the Duduá. Here, you'll find like-minded people that will not only share their opinion, but will also organise interesting workshops. If you prefer to watch rather than create then you are also in the right place: small art pieces, limited music, shirts, magazines and a lot of this and that with artistic flair. Careful: time just flies in this shop!

Chic & Basic Born
They love white and you`ll soon find out why: nothing is more relaxing after a colourful day in the city than to rest your eyes in this discrete and minimalistic ambience. Colourless does not mean boring. The rooms are vibrant with colours that are created through a Led effect. In the middle of the room, you`ll find a shower made of glass that puts the room in the categories of sexy and stylish. Rooms are available in the sizes of X, L or M. If you decide to go for small, you can spend some leisure time at the White Bar, whose name keeps all the promises.
