| Information about online security |

Austrian Airlines values the security of your data during its transmission over the internet. For this reason, all sensitive data are transmitted in encrypted form. The strength of this encryption depends on the version of your browser. Modern browsers support encryption strength of up to 128 bits. The security of online bookings made on our website is also confirmed by security certificates from thawte and the Austrian E-Commerce Euro-Label Seal of Quality. You will find both these security certificates at the foot of every Austrian online booking. We do not, of course, forward any data to third parties. |

Credit Card Security Code Security Code? The card security code is a unique three or four-digit number printed on your debit/credit card. This number is not embossed on the card and hence not printed on receipts - making it difficult for anyone other than the genuine cardholder, to know it. Some card issuers refer to this number as the 'Card Security Code' others as the 'personal security code' and others as 'Card Verification Value'. What happens in case of credit card misuse? According to § 31a of the Consumer Protection Law, you should contact the issuer of your credit card: "If, in the course of concluding a contract by remote sales, a payment card or its data are misused in any way, the rightful cardholder can demand of the issuer of the card that a booking or payment is reversed or reimbursed. There can be no deviation from this regulation to the disadvantage of a consumer." |

What can cause problems with SSL?
Should any problems arise with SSL, this may be a result of you being located behind a firewall that does not support SSL technology. It is also possible that no security proxy has been entered in your configuration. You will normally be advised of this via an appropriate error message, however. To remove the problem, please contact your network administrator. |

Our cookies represent no danger whatsoever to your computer. Cookies are necessary to complete online bookings, and it is standard procedure for them to be deleted after one day.
