Flights from and to Tel Aviv in Israel cancelled for another 24 hours – signals to restore security situation at Ben Gurion Airport

Due to the unclear situation at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport, Austrian Airlines has decided to cancel all flights from and to Tel Aviv on July 25, 2014. This also affects all flights from Lufthansa, Germanwings, Brussels Airlines and Swiss.

The decision was taken as a precautionary measure, since the safety of our passengers and crews has top priority.
Passengers affected by the cancellations are able to rebook or refund their flights, free of charge.

In the case of a change in booking the Austrian Service Center can be contacted by phone +43 (0) 5 1766 1000 (Mon–Sun, 08:00 am-08:00 pm). Passengers, who have booked via a tour operator or travel agency are kindly asked to contact the tour operator/travel agency where the booking was made.

Austrian Airlines is in constant contact with the authorities and the airport in Tel Aviv and evaluates the situation continually.

Austrian Airlines acknowledges the considerable efforts of the state of Israel, to restore the security at the airport and will assess the situation again on July 25 to decide whether the flight operation from and to Tel Aviv can be resumed starting from Saturday, July 26, 2014.

Flights to and from the Ukraine and Russia

Due to the increased security situation and the long-range closure of the airspace Austrian Airlines cancels its flights from and to Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk in the Ukraine until and including Monday, July 28, 2014. The flight program to other destinations in the Ukraine and Russia will operate as planned. Austrian Airlines will continue to fly widely around the eastern Ukrainian airspace. Austrian Airlines is in constant contact with the authorities and airports and evaluates the situation continually. It is yet uncertain whether the flight operation to Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk can be resumed from 29 July 2014.

Construction works on A4 highway

Due to Asfinag construction works on the A4 highway to Vienna Airport delays on the way to the airport are possible from April, 23th 2014. Therefore, please consider more time for your journey to the airport.

Temporary suspension of flights to and from Tripoli

Due to several incidents at the international airport Tripoli since March 21, 2014, which lead to the temporary closure of the airport, Austrian Airlines does not offer flights from or to Tripoli at the moment. We constantly evaluate the state of facts, but at the moment no final decision can be made. Therefore, we cannot reinstate flights from or to Tripoli yet. We are in close contact with responsible authorities and we will reevaluate the suspension based on conclusive findings.
