Austrian Airlines to resume flights from and to Tel Aviv again
On the basis of the most up-to-date information we have available and our own assessment of the local security situation, Austrian Airlines has resumed
its flights from and to Ben Gurion International Airport in stages with the course OS 857 from Vienna and OS 858 from Tel Aviv. Due to operational reasons the flights OS859 and OS860 had to be cancelled until July 31. We will try to rebook our passengers within the Lufthansa Group.
Passengers affected by the cancellations are able to rebook or refund their flights, free of charge. In the case of a change in booking the Austrian Service Center can be contacted by phone +43 (0) 5 1766 1000 (Mon–Sun, 08:00 am-08:00 pm). Passengers, who have booked via a tour operator or travel agency are kindly asked to contact the tour operator/travel agency where the booking was made.
We regret the inconvenience experienced by our customers due to the temporary cancellation of our flight operations. However, the safety of our passengers is our highest priority. Austrian Airlines continuously evaluates the security situation for the entire route network in close coordination with the responsible authorities.
It is with relief that we are able to return to scheduled service on the routes to Tel Aviv. For operational reasons, however, this will require a few days.
Flights to and from the Ukraine and Russia
Due to the increased security situation and the
long-range closure of the airspace Austrian Airlines cancels its flights from
and to Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk in the Ukraine until and including August 5th, 2014. The flight program to other
destinations in the Ukraine and Russia will operate as planned. Austrian
Airlines will continue to fly widely around the eastern Ukrainian airspace.
Austrian Airlines is in constant contact with the authorities and airports and
evaluates the situation continually. As long as the
conflict in eastern Ukraine is going on and the airspace around Kharkiv and
Dnipropetrovsk remains closed, the resumption of the flights to the two
Ukrainian destinations is unlikely.
Passengers affected by the cancellations are able to
rebook or refund their flights, free of charge. In the case of a change in
booking the Austrian Service Center can be contacted by phone +43 (0) 5 1766 1000 (Mon–Sun,
08:00 am-08:00 pm). Passengers,
who have booked via a tour operator or travel agency are kindly asked to
contact the tour operator/travel agency where the booking was made.
Temporary suspension of flights to and from Tripoli
Due to several incidents at the international airport Tripoli since March 21, 2014, which lead to the temporary closure of the airport, Austrian Airlines does not offer flights from or to Tripoli at the moment. We constantly evaluate the state of facts, but at the moment no final decision can be made. Therefore, we cannot reinstate flights from or to Tripoli yet. We are in close contact with responsible authorities and we will reevaluate the suspension based on conclusive findings.
We regret any inconvenience this may cause.
Construction works on A4 highway
Due to Asfinag construction works on the A4 highway to Vienna Airport delays on the way to the airport are possible from April, 23th 2014. Therefore, please consider more time for your journey to the airport.
