Excess Baggage If your baggage exceeds the permitted
free baggage allowance, please notify us in advance on tel. +43 (0)5 1766 1000 so we can reserve sufficient space for it.
All fees shown are for a one-way trip and apply for journeys started on Austrian Airlines. Different rules and rates may be applicable on other carriers.
For Excess Baggage and Sports Equipment a supplementary Excess Baggage Ticket Service Charge of
EUR10 will be levied.
All flights (except flights to/from USA and Canada) – weight concept
The fee for 1 kg of excess baggage depends on your route. The countries are assigned to different zones.

Flights to/from the USA and Canada – piece concept
In this case your free baggage allowance is as follows:
in Economy Class:

for tickets issued on/before 31DEC2009:
2 bags of max. 23 kg each and max. total dimensions of 158cm
(L + W + H).

for tickets issued on/after 01JAN2010:
1 bag of max 23kg and max. total dimensions of 158cm
(L + W + H). For a second baggage within those limits a fee of EUR 40 or USD/CAD 50 applies.
in Business Class:
For any additional piece of baggage and/or baggage exceeding the max. weight and/or dimensions special charges will be applied. You can find information on those charges here .
SPORTS EQUIPMENT
If you are travelling with sports equipment, please notify us in advance on
tel. +43 (0)5 1766 1000 so we can reserve sufficient space for it.
Sports equipment of category "SMALL" is part of your free baggage allowance if it is within the stated limits.
If your baggage exceeds the free bag allowance, or your sports equipment falls into the category" MEDIUM" or "LARGE", the charges for tranportation are as stated in the table below.
1 ski- or snowboard equipment per person is free of charge.

Exception:
Are you an HON-Circle Member, Senator or Frequent Traveller? If so, you may carry 1 item of sports equipment in the "small" category or 1 golf bag (max. 15 kg) free of charge.
Flights to/from the USA and Canada
Sports equipment in the "small" category counts as part of your free bagagge allowance, provided it does not exceed the specified max. weight and dimensions.
For sports equipment exceeding the free baggage allowance the following flat fees per one-way trip apply:
