Travelling to the airport by car

The best way to reach Vienna Airport by car is to take the A4 airport motorway. This is signposted for the airport ("Flughafen") and the access road leads to the passenger handling building. Alternatively, you can take the B9 federal highway ("Bundesstraβe"), from where you can also reach the operational entrance to the airport (for cargo and the General Aviation Terminal).

It is only permitted to stop to get into or out of your car and to unload luggage at specially signposted points on the ramp in front of the departures building. Please ensure you adhere to this rule at all times.

Travelling to the airport by public transport

By City Airport Train (CAT)

The express rail link travels out to the airport twice an hour, and needs just 16 minutes to cover the distance from Vienna's main city centre railway station – Wien-Mitte – to the airport.

The most innovative feature of the new service is that you can now check in for your flight before getting onto the train in town, as well as make reservations and collect tickets (if tickets directly booked at Austrian Airlines).
